DOST-FPRDI LEADS SOFT LAUNCHING OF F3TP

MANILA — The Department of Science and Technology-Forest Products Research and Development Institute (DOST-FPRDI) today led the soft launching of its Flavors and Fragrances from the Forest Technology Program (F3TP) R&D Laboratory Facility.

Program Leader Florena B. Samiano said that F3TP program hopes to contribute in creating a globally competitive and sustainable forest flavors & fragrances industry in the Philippines.

The F3TP program develops products such as essential oils, bar and liquid hand soaps, cinnamon tea, flavor-infused wines and flavor-enhancing immune-booster products.

“Initiatives on sustainable sourcing and harvesting of raw materials for flavors and fragrances are also being implemented.”

“With the new F3TP R&D laboratory, DOST-FPRDI can undertake more researches and projects on personal care & wellness products, and food innovations.” Samiano added. (ai/mtvn)
