KAMPILAN INFANTRYMAN RECEIVES MEDAL FOR BRAVERY

CAMP SIONGCO, Awang, Dos, Maguindanao – A medal was awarded to 1st Lieutenant Jomar C Binay-an (Inf) Philippine Army, executive officer of Bravo Company under the 7th Infantry (Tapat) Battalion who was wounded during an encounter against more or less ten (10) communist terrorist groups while conducting a combat clearing operation at Barangay Baluan in the municipality of Palimbang, Sultan Kudarat on June 15, 2022.

The medal was personally pinned by Joint Task Force Central and 6th Infantry (Kampilan) Division Acting Commander Major General Roberto S. Capulong on June 21, 2022.

“This is in recognition of his heroic acts while pursuing terrorist groups in hinterlands of Palimbang”, Capulong stated.

“His bravery and selfless service in preserving peace in our countrymen is highly regarded,” he added.

Aside from a medal, Colonel Edgar L. Catu, Chief of Staff also gave cash assistance, groceries, and a fruit basket to Binay-an. (ai/mtvn)
