MANILA — FULFILLING HER CAMPAIGN PROMISE that there will be no more political colors under the new Marcos administration, Vice President-elect Sara Z. Duterte -Carpio has tapped former commissioner and acting chairman of the Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG) Reynold Munsayac as her spokesperson.

It can recalled that during a sortie on March 3, Duterte vowed that the post-May 2022 election scenario in the country must be “colorless”.

Political observers noted that the yellow color has always been associated with the two past Aquino administrations while the UniTeam of Bongbong Marcos and Sara Duterte used red and green colors during their recent campaign.

The PCGG was created by the administration of Corazon Aquino solely to recover the alleged ill-gotten wealth accumulated by the late President Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr. and his family.

“Munsayac’s professional portfolio is highlighted by his unquestionable integrity and dedication to governance and public service, and the Vice President-elect is confident that he will be able to bring this experience to his new duty,” Duterte’s office said in a press release.

Munsayac, however, left the PCGG in 2021 to help with the vice presidential campaign of Duterte -Carpio, Marcos Jr.’s running mate.

He replaced on Tuesday, June 21, Mayor Christina Frasco as the spokesman for the Vice President.

Munsayac and the vice president-elect were classmates in law school.

Meanwhile, the Vice President-elect extended her gratitude to Frasco and wished her well in her incoming role as head of the Tourism Department.

Duterte-Carpio is “grateful for Mayor Frasco’s help in the timely and effective communication of her messages to Filipinos through the media,” her camp said. (ai/mtvn)
