DAVAO CITY, DAVAO DEL SUR — With his term nearing its end, graduating president Rodrigo Duterte gave president-elect Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. some pieces of advice, expressing hope that the former senator’s administration will not forget the projects that benefit the majority of the Filipino people.

Duterte aired his belief that the incoming Marcos administration should continue embarking on projects that would make the Filipinos happy.

“I hope that the next administration will also continue the things that would make our people happy. Although not all but may makita sila that we are doing something with the money of the people,” the outgoing chief executive pointed out in his speech at the awarding of Madayaw Residences units at Central Park, Bangkal, Talomo District in Davao City on Thursday evening.

The former Davao City mayor mentioned as an example the housing units awarded to state workers, overseas Filipino workers, and uniformed personnel among other beneficiaries which showed that government money is working for the people.

“The low-cost housing program is our way of giving back to the country’s hardworking uniformed personnel and civil servants. Ibig kong sabihin bumabawi lang rin ang gobyerno sa sakripisyo ninyo,” he noted.

“Kaya ako alam ko kasi matagal akong mayor, 23 years, so nakapa ko na lahat ang—lahat, lahat ng sektor nakapa ko na. And these are the things that we would like to continue sana but hindi ko na panahon,” he said in conclusion. (ai/mtvn)
