MANILA — Vice Mayor John Marvin Yul Servo Nieto lead the inaugural session of the 12th City Council of Manila on Monday, July 4, 2022.
In his speech, he inspired the members of the city council to be compassionate to their constituents, execute one’s obligations, and fulfill their promises.
Nieto also acknowledged the support of former Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso during his early days as a city councilor.
Isang pamilya tayo at walang iwanan.
Mayor Honey Lacuna also graced the inaugural session of the city council and expressed her gratitude for being the next-in-line of Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso as she was able to work alongside the former mayor in providing programs for the benefit of Manilans.
The Mayor, who is a doctor by profession, reminded constituents her administration would prioritize the city’s healthcare programs.
Lacuna-Pangan aims to build more super health centers within Manila. These super health centers will be equipped with complete basic laboratory tests, portable x-ray machines, and ECG machines among others for easy access to quality health care within the community. This aims to eliminate the need to travel to hospitals for basic check-ups and tests.
The local government’s social pension, such as the P500 for senior citizens, PWDs, solo parents, and grade 12 students and P1,000 for PLM and UdM college students will also be carried forward by the administration. (Kiara Lauren Ibanez/BENJAMIN CUARESMA/ai/mtvn)
