LAPU-LAPU CITY, Cebu — Appreciating the move of the Office of the Vice President (OVP), the civic group Maharlika Solidarity (MASO) founded by a descendant of Lapu-Lapu on Wednesday lauded Vice President Sara Duterte as her office has started to provide social services programs, including medical and burial assistance.

The initial satellite offices of the Office of the Vice President are in Dagupan (Region 1), Cebu (Region VII), Tacloban (Region VIII), Zamboanga (Region IX), Davao (Region XI), and Tandag in Surigao del Sur (Region XIII).

“We thank VP Sara for establishing satellite offices in several regions so that her office can provide immediate services to the masses,” MASO convenor Khalid Mundo said.

He noted that the medical and burial assistance offered in the OVP satellite offices can be availed through identified partner hospitals or direct walk-in applications.

Meanwhile, OVP spokesperson Reynold Munsayac said the OVP satellite offices would not only be limited to remote areas.

He revealed that Inday Sara (monicker of the Vice President) is eyeing “to open more (satellite offices) to reach more Filipinos throughout the country.” (ai/mtvn)
