TUGUEGARAO, Cagayan — The Department of Agriculture (DA) and the Fertilizer and Pesticide Authority (FPA) warned all farmers in the region here about the proliferation of fake fertilizers in the market.
FPA Regional Manager Leo Bangad issued an advisory on the sale of fake fertilizers by people who are taking advantage of the high prices of fertilizers and selling them at a low price.
Bangad said that the Philphos fertilizer grades 14-14-14 and 16-20-0 are not genuine. “The public is advised to inspect the details check including the marking or label of the fertilizer product that they buy”.
“Fake fertilizer has more clear markings than the original one,” he added.
“Hindi magkakapareho ang textre at kulay ng abono na kung susuriin ay parang may halo”.
“FPA is now conducting analysis as to the composition of the fertilizer and encouraged the public to inform the agency if they have purchased one of the products stated,” Bangad concluded. (ai/mtvn)
