BUGUEY, Cagayan – The town of Buguey in Cagayan yesterday showcased the longest grilled “Malaga” during the celebration of the town fiesta.

The activity was the first in the country where a total of 2,000 kgs of “Malaga” was roasted and the griller reached about 350 meters in length. It was conducted near the beach in Barangay Centro.

According to Mayor Licerio Antiporda, the Malaga grill was the highlight of the Malaga Festival aside from the Crab and Guraman Festival which are also famous in their town.

The Buguey LGU also wants the 350-meter grilled Malaga to be included in the Guinness Book of World Records.
