Comelec fire keeps ablaze employees’ fervor to work from home

MANILA — Despite the mysterious fire that struck the building of the Commission on Elections, Comelec chairman George Garcia has asked its executive director to continue the work from home of employees in order not to disrupt the operations of the poll body.

Garcia said this would pave for the mandatory inspection of Palacio del Gobernador building that serves as Comelec offices and for the maintenance personnel to restore the power supply and extinguish the obnoxious smell which could be hazardous to health.

He added that a skeletal workforce would ensure the continuity of operational and administrative functions of the poll body. (ai/mtvn)
