Youngsters ‘shine’ in Ironkids PH

LAPU-LAPU CITY, Cebu — Full of zest and excitement, over 200 kids participated in and enjoyed the Ironkids PH which served as a sort of appetizer for Ironman 70.3 Philippines triathlon in this historic resort city after a two-year hiatus.

On Saturday, August 6, Ironkids PH kickstarted and ended at The Mactan Newtown where over 200 “invincible” kids had their speed and endurance put to a test in a swim-bike-run competition.

Outstanding kids notched titles from 6-8, 9-10, 11-12, and 13-14 age division race categories of the junior version of Ironman.

Darrel Bada, bested others in the 13-14 Boys category finishing the triathlon race with 33:22.

Followed in second place finishing with 34:09 was Carron Canas, while Connor Hodges came p third with a 35:13 finish.

Meanwhile, the winners in the different race categories were the following:

13-14 Girls Category
1st – Adrian Ungos

3rd – Maria Celinda Raagas

11-13 Boys Category
1st – Peter Sancho Del Rosario
2nd – Edel Royeras
3rd – Al Dustin Bersabal

11-13 Girls Category
1st – Christy Ann Perez
2nd – Yvaine Osias
3rd – Fritzie Surima

9-10 Boys Category
1st – Joshua Emanuel Marquez
2nd – Earl Pearson
3rd – Cedric Faltmeyer Encabo

9-10 Girls Category
1st – Lauren Lee Tan
2nd – Aliya Nora Adre
3rd – Seanna Clarke

6-8 Boys Category
1st – Izak Cael Avanzado
