MANILA — Several lawmakers lamented the passing of track and field icon Lydia de Vega, widely considered as Asia’s fastest woman, on Thursday.
Senators Lito Lapid, Nancy Binay, Robin Padilla, and Sonny Angara remembered de Vega as she brought honor to the Philippines.
Angara and Padilla said that she has brought inspiration to Filipinos.
“[Rest in peace] Lydia De vega. Once Asia’s fastest woman,” Angara said.
