MANILA — A successful implementation of warrant of arrest resulted to the arrest of Cebu’s most wanted person on Thursday morning.

Philippine National Police chief, Police General Rodolfo Azurin Jr. announced the arrest of Rhomel Dano ESTOQUIA, 21 years old, at around 10:00 AM at Sitio Tugasan,Brgy. Guadalupe, Cebu City, Cebu.

Estoquia was arrested during joint operation conducted by personnel of Cebu City Police Office (CCPO), Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Cebu Police Field Unit (PFU), 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) Cebu Police Provincial Office and Regional Intelligence Unit 7 (RIU 7) by virtue of Warrant of Arrest issued by Hon. Stephen Ian T. Belacho, Presiding Judge of RTC, 7th Judicial Region, Branch 22, Cebu City for Rape (RPC Art 266-A) under Par 2 in relation to Art 266-B (Sexual Assault) docketed under Criminal Case Number R-CEB-22-04745 with a recommended bail of P200,000.00.

“I congratulate our operating unit for another positive intelligence driven operation and implementation of warrant of arrest against wanted person. Ang tagumpay ng ating programa kontra kriminalidad ay bunga ng tiwala, suporta at matatag na ugnayan ng ating kapulisan at pamayanan,” Azurin said.

The arrested suspect is now under the temporary custody of Cebu City Police for documentation and proper disposition before turning over to court of origin. (ai/mtvn)
