DOH-CALABARZON CONTINUES DISTRIBUTION OF HEALTHY CLINIC KIT, ANTI-DENGUE SUPPLIES TO SCHOOLS

MANILA — The Department of Health-Center for Health Development (DOH-CHD) CALABARZON continues to carry out its campaign “Para sa Henerasyong Healthy, Balik Sigla sa pagbalik Eskwela” in Region 4A made up of the provinces of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon.

The campaign aims to strengthen partnerships among learning institutions, local government offices, and other stakeholders so that learners under the K to 12 curriculum will have the potential to learn in a safer and healthier environment in preparation for the upcoming face-to-face classes on August 22, 2022.

On August 11, 2022, DOH-CALABARZON distributed another set of Healthy School Clinic kits, anti-dengue, and other vector control supplies to Dolores Macasaet National High School, Candelaria Quezon.

Among the officials present were: Governor Angelina “Helen” D.L. Tan, Candelaria Mayor George D. Suayan and other local government officials (LGUs), DOH CALABARZON Assistant Regional Director Leda M. Hernandez, and Representatives from DepEd and Phil. Pediatric Soc.- Southern Tagalog Chapter (PPS-STC).

The campaign launch highlights the school-based Dengue Awareness Campaign and the 4S strategy (Search and destroy breeding places, Secure self-protection, seek early consultation, and Support fogging/spraying in hotspot areas), turnover of healthy school clinic kits, anti-dengue, and other vector-control supplies; ceremonial installation of Olyset nets and a mini gallery, showcasing the 7 healthy habits ( Move more, eat right; Be clean, Live sustainably; Get vaccinated, don’t smoke; Lessen alcohol, say no to drugs; Care for yourself, Care for others; Practice safe sex; Do no harm, Put safety first), COVID-19 vaccination and the konsultayo campaigns of the DOH.

The DOH- CALABARZON has distributed anti-dengue and other vector control supplies including: Gov. D.M. Camerino Integrated School; Imus Pilot Elementary School; Buhay na Tubig Elementary School in Imus Cavite and Kanlurang Mayao Elementary School in Lucena City, in collaboration with DepEd.

Meanwhile, in conjunction with the campaign launch, Dolores Macasaet National High School has coordinated with the Quezon Provincial DOH Office (PDOHO) and the Candelaria Municipal Health Office (MHO) to open its COVID-19 Vaccination site for students and their families inside the school campus. This initiative is also for the upcoming face-to-face classes this month. (ai/mtvn)
