PASIG CITY, METRO MANILA — Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Z. Duterte met with Ayala Corporation Chairman Jaime Zobel de Ayala, Ayala Foundation President Ruel Maranan, iPeople President Alfredo Ayala, and Senior Director for CorpComms of Ayala Foundation Cel Rosales-Amores at the Department of Education Central office Monday, August 15.
Duterte thanked the Ayala Foundation for extending their support and dedication to the Filipino learners.
“Nagpapasalamat po ako sa Ayala Foundation sa kanilang dedikasyon at pagpapaabot ng tulong para sa lahat ng Filipino learners. Mabuhay po kayo (I thanked the Ayala Foundation for their dedication and for extending their support to all Filipino learners),” Duterte said in her social media post.
She said the Ayala Group expressed their preparedness to support the programs of DepEd for the development of the quality of education in the Philippines.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, August 14, the Office of the Vice President extended its heartfelt condolences to the family of Filipino legendary sports icon Lydia de Vega.
“We share the grief you feel over the demise of Ms. de Vega, and may you find comfort from a nation that mourns with you. Vice President Sara Duterte offers her sympathies and prayers,” Vice Presidential Spokesperson Atty. Reynold Munsayac said in an official statement.
He said Ms. de Vega has inspired and will continue to inspire young Filipinos to pursue their dreams in sports and she was a shining example of a Filipino who truly loved her country as she put the Philippines on the map of sports worldwide.
“Her legacy will always be cherished,” Munsayac disclosed.###
