MANILA — Around 150,000 metric tons amount of sugar is proposed to be imported, Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles said Thursday.
When asked when the importation will happen, Cruz-Angeles said she does not have an information on the said matter.
According to Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri, it was accepted that sugar imports were necessary, but not at the 300,000 metric tons stated in the sugar order, which Malacanang had dubbed as “illegal.”
