MANILA — President Bongbong Marcos has suspended the classes at all levels of public schools and government offices until tomorrow, August 24 due to typhoon Florita.
Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles said that this is also based on the recommendation of the Office Civil Defense (OCD) to suspend classes in Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Rizal, Bulacan, Zambales, and Bataan from August 23 to 24.
“The heavy rains pose possible risks to the general public based on the recommendations of the Office of Civil Defense,” Angeles said.
Cruz-Angeles added that the government leaves the discretion to private schools to declare no classes.
“The same course of action for private schools and offices is left to the discretion of their respective heads,” she said. (ai/mtvn)
