QUEZON CITY — Operatives of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) have arrested 24 suspected law no in the latest anti-illegal drugs and anti-criminality operations held in just one day in this city.
QCPD director, Police Brigadier General Nicolas D Torre III, announced the arrest where 14 suspects were collared for alleged violations of the Anti-Illegal Drugs Law while 3 others got involved in illegal gambling and the 7 remaining were among the list of the most wanted individuals.
On anti-illegal drug operations, La Loma Police Station (PS 1) under PLTCOL Garman Manabat arrested Rose Evangelista, 30 y/o; Lino Nambatac, 39 y/o, both residents of Brgy. Tatalon, Quezon City; Edgarzo Azamza, 55 y/o, resident of Brgy. Masambong, Quezon City; and Bal Galanta, 55 y/o, resident of Brgy. Talayan, Quezon City. They were arrested at about 7:00 PM of September 2, 2022 along Don Pepe St., Brgy. Sto. Domingo, Quezon City. Confiscated were 0.50 grams of shabu valued at Php3,400.00, playing cards, and bet money amounting to Php300.00.
Talipapa Police Station (PS 3) under PLTCOL Mark Janis C Ballesteros arrested in a buy-bust operation, John Mark Aganan, 22 y/o, and a resident of Brgy. Balon Bato, Quezon City at about 4:45 PM on September 2, 2022 at Ilalim ng Tulay, Brgy. Balon Bato, Quezon City. Confiscated were more or less two grams of shabu valued at Php13,600.00, one coin purse, one cellular phone, and the buy-bust money.
Cubao Police Station (PS 7) under PLTCOL Joseph Euje Almaquer arrested in a buy-bust operation, Diether Blancia, 26 y/o, and a resident of Brgy. Socorro, Quezon City at about 1:30 PM on September 02, 2022 along Oxford St., Brgy E. Rodriguez, Cubao, Quezon City. Confiscated were more or less ten grams grams of shabu valued at Php68,000.00, one yellow coin purse, and the buy-bust money.
Galas Police Station (PS 11) under PLTCOL Richard Ian T Ang arrested in a buy-bust operation, July Azuro, 39 y/o, resident of Brgy. Doña Imelda, Quezon City, and Princess Joy Sernio, 34 y/o, resident of Sampaloc, Manila at about 1:50 AM on September 03, 2022. Confiscated were more or less two grams of shabu valued at Php13,600.00, a cell phone, and the buy-bust money.
Payatas Bagong Silangan Police Station (PS 13) under PLTCOL Roldante S Sarmiento arrested in a buy-bust operation Marvin Jarillo, 28 y/o; Jimwell Karl Lazarte, 23 y/o; and Daniel Annang, 25 y/o, all residents of Brgy. Payatas B, Quezon City at about 11:00PM on September 02, 2022. Confiscated were more or less one (1) gram of shabu valued at Php6,800.00, a coin purse, and the buy-bust money.
Pasong Putik Police Station (PS 16) under PLTCOL Vicente L Bumalay arrested in a buy-bust operation, John Carlo Munda, 27 y/o; Roy Garcia, 42 y/o; and Leo Salazar, 49 y/o; all residents of Brgy. Gulod, Novaliches, Quezon City at about 11:00PM on September 02, 2022. Confiscated were five grams of shabu valued at Php34,000.00, one coin purse, a cell phone, and the buy-bust money.
All suspects will be charged for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Meanwhile, the following units and stations arrested seven wanted suspects:
PS 1 arrested one; two were arrested by Project 6 Police Station (PS 15) under PLTCOL Norman T Florentino; Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDU) under PMAJ Rene Balmaceda arrested two; Batasan Police Station (PS 6) under PLTCOL Morgan B Aguilar arrested one; and PS 13 also arrested one.
The courts of origin will be notified of the arrest of wanted persons.
On the other hand, PS 1 also arrested three suspects for violation of PD 1602 or Anti-Gambling Law, at about 10:30 PM on September 2, 2022 at 7-A Christine St., Parkway Village, Brgy. Apolonio Samson, Quezon City.
Mayor Joy Belmonte conveys her gratitude to valiant police officers of QCPD, “Patuloy po ang lokal na pamahalaan na makikipagtulungan sa ating kapulisan tungo sa pagkakaisa, kapayapaan at kaunlaran ng lungsod Quezon (The local government will continue to cooperate with our police force towards unity, peace and progress of our Quezon City),” she added.
“We highly value our duty to enforce the law, as well as to ensure the safety of our citizens in Quezon City. Therefore, we carried out this massive operation to fulfill our mandate to keep our community safe from evil-doers,” PBGEN Nicolas Torre III said.
The Acting Regional Director of NCRPO, PBGEN Jonnel C Estomo, applauded the operatives of QCPD for their perseverance and dedication in their sworn duties most especially in the relentless campaign against all forms of criminality.###
