MANILA — Starbucks Philippines on September 13, 2022, announced that it will implement a P5-price increase in all of its beverages beginning Tuesday.
The statement was made by Starbucks Philippines franchisee Rustan Coffee Corporation.
“We regularly review pricing to allow us to properly balance the experience we provide customers with our need to effectively run the business,” Starbucks Philippines marketing and global responsibility manager Maria Rosario Vilchez stated.
“We remain committed to providing value to customers in meaningful ways through special promotions and our Starbucks Rewards loyalty program,” she added.
Last August, the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) informed the public of an imminent price increase on beverages and food products because of the shortage in the supply of sugar.
PCCI President George Barcelon said that the deficiency will automatically force price increases in the market.
Although the management of Starbucks Philippines didn’t explain their reason for a price increase, their customers are attributing it to the increasing costs of prices in all commodities. (ai/mtvn)
