MANILA — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has arrived in the United States where he is scheduled to attend the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
“Tayo ay ligtas na nakarating sa Newark Liberty International Airport sa New Jersey kasama si Unang Ginang Liza Marcos at mga miyembro ng ating Philippine Delegation,” Marcos said in a Facebook post.

The President hopes to meet US President Joe Biden during the UNGA.
“Sabi ko pagkakataon na natin at hindi nila mapupuntahan sa kanilang bansa kaya dito na natin sila kakausapin,” he said.
“Our relations with the US remain strong and I believe we’ll make them stronger in the coming years,” Marcos added.
Marcos is scheduled to speak before the UNGA delegates on Tuesday, 20 September 2022.
Earlier, Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Assistant Secretary Kira Azucena said that Marcos would tackle the priorities of the administration in his speech at a high-level general debate at the UN.
