MANILA — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has met with former United Kingdom Prime Minister Anthony Blair during his working visit to the United States.
“Today, we met with Anthony Charles Lynton Blair, former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and current Executive Chairman of the Tony Blair Institute For Global Change,” Marcos said.
The President also said that among the topics discussed in their conversation was the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), food security, and action related to climate change and trade.
“We tackled the optimistic peace process…and explored concrete ways to address other priority issues in the global economy such as food security, climate action, and trade,” Marcos said.
Blair stands as Executive Chairman of the Tony Blair Institute For Global Change.
First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo, and House Speaker Martin Romualdez accompanied Marcos.
Marcos also had a bilateral meeting with Japan Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and met with World Bank President David Malpass. (a/mtvn)
