MANILA — The Department of Health-Center for Health (DOH-CHD) CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) will further intensify the health agency’s campaign to achieve the COVID-19 booster coverage.

The DOH labeled it as Bakunahang Bayan: PinasLakas Special Vaccination Days which is coming off the ground starting Monday, 26 September 2022 in Trece Martires, Cavite.

The Cavite springboard will be spearheaded by DOH Officer-in-Charge and Undersecretary Rosario S. Vergeire. She will be assisted by DOH CALABARZON Regional Director Ariel I. Valencia, Local Chief Executives that include Cavite Governor Juanito Victor “Jonvic” C. Remulla, Jr., Trece Martires City Mayor Gemma B. Lubigan, and other Government and Non-Government Agencies; Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Philippine Medical Association(PMA), Philippine Pediatric Society (PPS), UNICEF, Relief International (RI), USAID ReachHealth Project and World Health Organization (WHO) local representatives.

“Bakunahang Bayan is the newest campaign and part of our ongoing campaign ‘Sa Booster PinasLakas’ Campaign as per the directive of President Ferdinand E. Marcos to increase the number of Filipinos who have been given a COVID-19 booster shot. This is to help maintain the country’s wall of immunity by vaccinating 90% of the A2 or senior citizen population, as well as increase booster dose coverage to 50% of the total target population before October 8, 2022, which marks the first 100 days of the Marcos administration, ” said DOH CALABARZON Regional Director Valencia.

Bakunahang Bayan: PinasLakas Special Vaccination Days is a week-long event from September 26-30, 2022, that aims to further increase the number of individuals protected from COVID-19 to reach the national vaccination and booster coverage goals.

To ensure the smooth rollout, DOH OIC and Usec. Vergeire will monitor identified sites that include Trece Martires City Public Market and Covered Court Brgy. Manggahan, General Trias, Cavite to strengthen partnerships and solidify networks among stakeholders in achieving the PinasLakas Campaign targets within the first 100 days of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.’s administration.

“With the guidance of our hardworking and competent OIC Secretary tiwala kami sa Region 4A na maaabot natin ang target at sa tulong ng lahat ng mga stakeholder including Government and Non-Government partner agencies. Ginagawa naman natin ang lahat dahil most of the setting where people usually go ay naglalagay na rin tayo ng bakunahan. Kaya wala ng dapat ipag-alala pa ang tao,” Valencia added.

“Remember, we are still fighting COVID-19, so we should not let our guard down and the only way to do that is to follow the minimum public health standards at all times and get your Primary doses of Covid-19 vaccines and Booster doses,” Valencia concluded.

A total of 47 social mobilizers have been deployed across the CALABARZON region; Cavite 7, Laguna 7, Batangas 7, Rizal 7, Quezon 16, and Lucena with 3 to reach the areas with low coverage of COVID-19 vaccination and boosters.

Meanwhile, there are 626 active vaccination sites in the region, 422 are fixed sites and 204 are mobile vaccination which is usually deployed to different settings that include marketplaces/malls, schools, workplaces, terminals, and others.
