MANILA — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has suspended classes at all levels and work in public offices due to super typhoon Karding on Monday, 26 September 2022.

Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles said that Marcos approved the recommendation of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on the super typhoon.

“The President has approved the recommendation of the NDRRMC for the suspension of work and classes due to Typhoon Karding,” she said.

NDRRMC Chairperson and Department of National Defense (DND) OIC Senior Undersecretary Jose Faustino earlier announced the suspension of school and classes in Metro Manila, Region 1, II, III, Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, and Region V due to destruction of the super typhoon.

“The recommended suspension will prevent any untoward incident and will ensure the safety of the general public,” Faustino said.
