MANDALUYONG CITY — Vice President Sara Z. Duterte was saddened by the
news that some families lost their loved ones due to the onslaught of
Typhoon “Karding” in Metro Manila and other Luzon provinces in the

even as thousands were brought to evacuation centers Sunday (September 25)
at the height of the storm.
“My thoughts and prayers are with the people affected by Typhoon
‘Karding’ in Luzon. May I also offer my deepest condolences to the
families of those who died during the onslaught of the typhoon,”
Duterte said in her official statement.
The Vice President assured the Filipino people that the Marcos
administration is doing its duties in delivering assistance and
services to our affected countrymen.
“The administration of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. is on top of
the situation — with coordination between concerned national agencies
and local government units did ensure immediate response and
efficient delivery of relief services to the people affected by
Karding,” she added.
“Karding” made landfall in the National Capital Region (NCR) and
Northern provinces with sustained winds of 185 kilometers (115 miles)
per hour. It hit the main island of Luzon on Sunday, prompting
authorities to shut schools, government offices, and the stock market
The five flood victims who died were actually rescue workers in
Bulacan province where residents were seen crossing on waist-deep
waters while others were stranded on the rooftops.
Around 74,000 people were forced into evacuation centers and aside
from Bulacan, the provinces of Quezon, Aurora, Nueva Ecija and
