MANILA — Senator Robin Padilla insisted on the need for more funds for the development of Mindanao, including programs promoted by the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA).

Medyo may kalungkutan po doon pagdating sa punto na yan,” said Padilla, after learning that MinDA’s budget for 2023 has been reduced.

Belen Acosta.

The senator said that although he and finance subcommittee chairman Sen. Ronald Dela Rosa of a way to increase the MinDA budget, the MinDA official should also talk to the Department of Budget and Management.

For 2023, MinDA has P158.958 million in the National Expenditure Program – P38.312 million less compared to its budget of P197.27 million for 2022.
