‘Karding’ death toll reaches 12

MANILA โ€” Disaster response officials announced on Friday that the number of lives lost to Typhoon Karding’s fury has increased to 12 as another drowning fatality was added to the total.

The most recent fatality, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), was from Tanay, Rizal.

In the previous death toll, Rizal, Tanay, and Antipolo, as well as Zambales, each had one fatality. While Bulacan had six drowning deaths. One person died in a motorcycle accident in Zambales, and another died in a landslide in Burdeos, Quezon.

According to the agency’s most recent report, 52 individuals were injured, including 50 in Central Luzon and two in Calabarzon.

Meanwhile, six people were still missing โ€” five fishermen from Mercedes, Camarines Norte, and another individual from Patnanungan, Quezon.

A total of P3,053,218,120 in agricultural damages was reported in Ilocos, Cagayan, Central Luzon, Bicol, and Cordillera, according to the NDRRMC. (ai/mtvn)
