MANILA — Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin confirmed the appointment of Land Transportation Franchising Regulatory Board chair Cheloy Garafil as Office of the Press Secretary (OPS) Undersecretary and office-in-charge (OIC).
Garafil has just resigned as LTFRB chair.
Garafil herself confirmed that he accepted the position as Undersecretary and OIC of OPS while Malacanang is still searching for a permanent Press Secretary.
“I tendered my resignation as LTFRB Chairperson as I have accepted the offer to help in the Office of the Press Secretary as its Undersecretary and OIC,” Cheloy Velicaria-Garafil said.
“This is a great honor and privilege, and I thank the President for this opportunity to once again work with him in his administration to serve the Filipino people,” she added.
President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. earlier announced that he is set to name his new Press Secretary next week.
According to Marcos, he will appoint a media practitioner to replace the resigned former Press Secretary Trixie Angeles. (ai/mtvn)
