MANILA — The city government of Manila, led by Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan and Vice Mayor Yul Servo Nieto, on Tuesday signed a memorandum of agreement with transport service provider Lalamove, a move that will accordingly open up new job opportunities to hundreds of Manilenos.
Lalamove Managing Director April Dannah Majarocon, Head of Regulatory and Strategy Atty. Joy Cañeba, External Affairs Associate Joan Luzuriaga, Compliance Officer Regine Dalistan, and Secretary to the Mayor Atty. Marlon Lacson, also attended the MOA signing at the Mayor’s Office.
Through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO), headed by Director Fernan Bermejo, applicants for Lalamove will have easier access to job opportunities and training provided by the transport provider.
“What we hope to achieve with this partnership is to able to reach more people, especially those that have not yet had the chance to grow their business or to earn a livelihood through Lalamove,” Majarocon said.
For her part, Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan addressed her appreciation to the company for all the assistance they have provided even before the pandemic.
“You’ve given a lot of Manileños a lot of opportunity to earn, lalo na po na we’re just starting again na makaangat mula sa pandemic,” she stated.
The memorandum of agreement will give greater opportunities to residents of Manila to earn a living through the courier services of Lalamove.
