MANILA — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has appointed new justices in the Court of Appeals (CA) and Court of Tax Appeals (CTA) the Office of the Press Secretary said Thursday.
Office of the Press Secretary office-in-charge Cheloy Garafil confirmed the appointment of Selma Palacio Alaras and Wilhelmina B. Jorge-Wagan as Associate Justices of the CA and Corazon G. Ferrer-Flores as Associate Justice of the CTA.
Alaras replaced Justice Gabriel Ingles, while Jorge-Wagan replaced Justice Edgardo Camello. Flores will replace Justice Juanito Castañeda’s seat in the CTA.
The three newly appointed justices have been sworn in by Supreme Court Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo.
The appointment papers of the justices was dated October 11.
The new court justices were the first appointees of Marcos in the judiciary. (ai/mtvn)
