MANILA — In its bid to deepen the Philippines’ economic ties with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), the Bureau of Customs (BOC) under acting Commissioner Yogi Filemin Ruiz on Tuesday said it issued the implementing guidelines and procedures for the exchange of the ASEAN Customs Declaration Document (ACDD) as part of the country’s commitment to the ASEAN Single Window (ASW) Agreement.
Its compliance with regional agreements, like the ASW Agreement with ASEAN, the BOC gives exporters easy access and creates a database of valuable data for the public sector and the business community.
The BOC said in a statement that Ruiz has signed Customs Memorandum Order (CMO) No. 26-2022, providing the rules for the exchange of ACDD.
It was gathered that under CMO No. 26-2022, which took effect on October 5, the exporter may register via the BOC’s ACDD Management Portal and give their consent for the exchange of ACDD data with other ASEAN member states.
The ACDD is a collection of “information parameters” structured with ASEAN-set process specifications and message implementation guide, the BOC further said. (AI/MTVN)
