MANILA — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. said that he is not convinced with the result of the autopsy of the dead ‘middleman’ in the killing of broadcaster Percy Lapid.

“I am still not satisfied that it was of natural causes. Sabi ko, tingnan niyo ng mabuti because there are ways to kill a person that does not show up in the medico-legal,” Marcos said on Wednesday.

“So tuloy-tuloy pa ang imbestigasyon. But more importantly, is to really trace saan nanggaling ito? Who gave the order? Sino nagbigay doon sa preso na orderin ang shooter na gawin ito at bakit?” he added.

Also, Marcos said that he will continue to monitor the case in the face of reports that even Lapid’s family members are receiving death threats.

“I have been monitoring… I talked to Justice Secretary Remulla and DILG [Secretary] Abalos, three, four, five times a day, and each time we talk about this…We do not have any particular directives. The police know what to do. I’ll just get in the way… Imbestigahan ninyo ng mabuti. Alamin natin ng mabuti kung sinong behind this. Hanggang ngayon, hindi pa …hindi pa tayo nakakasiguro,” Marcos said.

“More importantly is to trace kung saan nanggaling ito, who gave the order, sino nagbigay sa preso ng order at sa shooter na gawin ito at bakit,” he added. (ai/mtvn)
