MANILA — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. signed Executive Order No. 7 on Friday, allowing the voluntary wearing of face masks in indoor and outdoor settings.

The directive continues to require face masks to be worn in medical facilities, medical transport vehicles, and public transportation.

The elderly, with comorbidities, immunocompromised, pregnant, unvaccinated, and symptomatic are all advised to wear a face mask.

“Minimum public health standards shall continue to be implemented, including the practice of good hygiene, frequent hand-washing, physical distancing, and maintenance of good ventilation indoors,” OPS said.

The EO No. 3 that made wearing face masks voluntary outdoors which was issued in September has now been repealed. (ai/mtvn)
