NBP’s ‘Oplan Paglilinis’ nets thousands of canned beer, mobile phones, deadly weapons, firearms, shabu

In an effort to flush out prohibited items inside the maximum security New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City, the Bureau of Corrections rolled out “Oplan Paglilinis” on All Saints’ Day, Tuesday (01 Nov 2022).

As expected, the operation revealed thousands of canned beer, mobile phones, assorted deadly weapons, firearms and or course, illegal drug shabu.

The confiscated items was turned over the following day, Wednesday (November 2, 2022) to the Department of Justice for proper disposal.

Maintained by the Bureau of Corrections under the Department of Justice, the NBP is the main insular prison designed to house the prison population of the Philippines.

As of November 2021, the NBP housed 28,545 inmates, which grossly exceeds its ideal capacity of 6,435.
