MANILA — Saying that it was the local chief executive who was absent, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Erwin Tulfo on Friday debunked the claims of Noveleta Mayor Dino Chua on the inefficient distribution of government aid allegedly made by the agency in their area in the aftermath of the floods brought by typhoon “Paeng”.
Nung October 31, nagpadala kami ng 1,600 boxes of food packs. Paano po magkukulang na 200 lang ang nabigyan e 1,600 ang binaba sa kanya a day before?,” Tulfo blurted when interviewed by Super Radyo dzBB.
On Thursday, November 3, Tulfo said that Chua had complained about the alleged “numerous requirements that were being asked by DSWD officials before releasing aid to his constituents.”
The veteran journalist and now DSWD chief said an investigation revealed that the aid was enough for the people of Noveleta.
He pointed out that only those who did not get aid were not listed by the Noveleta LGU as their residents.
