FIRE DESTROYS FIREWORKS FACTORY IN BULACAN

STA MARIA, Bulacan – At least eight individuals were hurt after a fire gutted the GLK fireworks factory in Sitio Manggahan Brgy, Pulong-Buhangin in the town of Sta.Maria Bulacan around 1:00 PM yesterday (Thursday, November 3, 2022).

According to police, the victims, including the owner of the factory, suffered burns and bruises from the fire which also razed four other houses down during the fire.

The victims, who were immediately brought to the Rogaciano Mercado District Hospital, include Jessie Cruz y Feliciano (52), Lourdes E Policarpio (43), Monrenzo Sagana Victoria (26), and Marissa Sagana Victoria (58).
Witnesses said that the fireworks inside the factory compound suddenly exploded and lasted for at least 30 minutes, igniting the fire in the process.

The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) 4 also responded to the scene and provided first aid treatment to the other victims. (ai/mtvn)
