MANILA — Senate President Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri said that the Senate eyes to pass the 2023 budget on November 30 and hopes to submit it to Malacañang by December.

“Ang target talaga namin is November 30, baka makaya natin maipasa before that. Hindi ko lang ma-predict ‘yong, of course, ating bicam. Kasi bicam, House and Senate ‘yan,” Zubiri told reporters.

Zubiri said that the ratification would be on the first week of December.

“Ratification. Ang plano sana namin, first week of December, kung kaya. I think, what he’s asking, he requested lang, just in case ma-extend, para sa compilation ng mga amendments,” he said.

Meanwhile, Zubiri said that committee hearings will not be allowed during the budget marathon hearings, including Commission on Appointments.

“Wala. Bawal. Under our rules, when the session is ongoing, there can be no other committee hearings. That’s why pati CA is postponed – let me get my calendar – is actually postponed up to November 22, 23, Tuesday, and Wednesday,” he said.
