MANILA — Senator Cynthia Villar criticizes Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA) for not serving the country well in terms of construction projects.
The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has not given them the funds, hence the PRA refrained from approving the construction.
“I just want to inquire why this Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA) not serving our country for [the] public good?” she asked during the plenary session.
“So, I’m asking this question: Why these things happen in government? Hindi ba ‘pag government-to-government, wala nang problema ‘yan? Bakit kailangan niya pa makita ‘yung pera ng DBM bago niya ma-start ‘yung hospital namin?” the senator added.
In another instance, Villar claimed that they purchased the property from the PRA in order to erect a district office for the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
Again, they were not allowed to construct the district office since the DPWH owes the PRA P4 billion for the Cavite Expressway.
“Gusto niya bayaran muna ‘yung P4 billion bago kami i-allow mag-build ng district office doon sa lupa na binili namin sa kanya by DPWH. Tama ba ‘yun?” Villar questioned. (ai/mtvn)
