MANILA — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. is scheduled to meet with Canadian President Justin Trudeau and French President Emmanuel Macron on the sidelines of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

“I’m looking forward to the bilaterals because… again, iba ‘yung usapan eh kapag face-to-face,” Marcos said.

Marcos added that this is the first time he and Trudeau would talk.

“I’ve never met with him (Trudeau), so I suppose it’s just going to be an introductory one,” the President said.

Marcos mentioned that he has already spoken to Macron twice.

“So, we can move forward on the details of the things that he’s thinking about. Remember also we’ve been talking about nuclear power. Ang France is 67 percent nuclear power ang kanilang supply. So they’re very well-practiced when it comes to that,” the Chief Executive said.

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said that Marcos is expected to have a bilateral meeting with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen and South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol. (ai/mtvn)
