MANILA — In the pursuit of his aspiration to implement the Revitalized PNP KASIMBAYANAN in Central Visayas, Police Brigadier General Roderick Augustus B. Alba, the Regional Director of Police Regional Office (PRO) 7, visited the Archbishop of Cebu, the Most Reverend Jose S. Palma in his residence at the Archbishop’s Palace in Jakosalem St., Cebu City on November 8, 2022, at around 9:00 AM.

The visit marks the Regional Director’s first meeting with the leader of Cebu’s Catholic faith where they discussed the security preparations for “Simbang Gabi” this coming December, the Sinulog 2023, as well as the overall peace and order situation in the region.

Alba introduced to Archbishop Palma the PNP’s Revitalized KASIMBAYANAN or the “Kapulisan, Simbahan at Pamayanan” program, an initiative that strives to strengthen the partnership between the PNP, the Church, and the community in an effort to attain peace and order and socioeconomic development.

The PNP considers the Church, along with other religious organizations, as its strong ally not only in its internal cleansing strategy but also in addressing criminality and other concerns about peace and order. The meeting concluded with the two leaders agreeing to work together for a more peaceful and progressive Cebu. (ai/mtvn)
