CEBU CITY — Promising an “excellent Customs service” at the Bureau of Customs-Port of Cebu under her leadership, Atty. Elvira Cruz has expressed strong determination to hit, if not surpass, the remaining collection targets for the last two months of the current year.
The men and women of BOC-Port of Cebu, as well as local stakeholders, warmly welcomed back Cruz who returned to her previous post before she headed the Port of Cagayan de Oro in June 2021.
“Hitting the Port’s remaining targets for the year is our topmost priority. Along with our strengthened efforts to collect much-needed revenue, I commit to making transactions with the Port faster and customer-focused. Excellent customs service will be the brand of my leadership,” Cruz stressed.
She also vowed to carry on the Bureau’s top priority programs which include intensified anti-smuggling campaign and strict border controls.
Last Monday, November 7, Cruz took her oath of office before Customs Commissioner Yogi Filemon L. Ruiz (featured image above).
Cruz was named the new District Collector of the BOC Port of Cebu pursuant to Customs Personnel Order No. B-153-2022, replacing Atty. Charlito Martin R. Mendoza. (ai/mtvn)
