BAGUIO City — The Baguio City District Engineering Office has begun installing Internally Illuminated (Solar) Pavement Levelled Markers/Studs Flush Type along the major thoroughfares of the city.

According to District Engineer Rene Zarate, the solar marker will aid motorists in a better vision of the streets at night and help prevent accidents.

The road-marking system is adopted and installed on several facilities like roadway delineations, bridges, sign lightings, shoulders, and center lines for the purpose of security.

Zarate added that the safety device is prescribed for government infrastructure projects that require its use and is effective in reducing nighttime vehicular accidents, and can facilitate the safe and smooth flow of transportation along highways.
