BAGUIO City – The City Government of Baguio is all set to launch mobility test runs for its COMET electric mini-bus project in the Summer Capital from November 20 to December 3, 2022.
The electric mini-buses are manufactured and owned by Global Electric Transport (GET).
The COMET has 18 seating capacities and can accommodate 12 standing persons more.
It will be tested along the routes going to Mines View from November 20-26, 2022, and to Aurora Hill (CBD) on November 27-December 3, 2022, as these are considered the steepest roads in the city.
Operating time will be from 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM and pick up and drop off points will only be at Harrison Road loading/unloading area near the Ganza Parking entrance.
The city government said that residents who want to avail of the free ride during the test run can just download the GET-PASS app from Google Play Store and register.
The project on the placement of public vehicles with low carbon emissions is supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Department of Transportation (DOTr).
The COMET mini-bus is a fully electric vehicle that uses a fast-charging lithium ferrophosphate battery with rated energy of 53.47kWh. Its PMSM motor has a torque of 270 Nm and a peak power of 120kW. (ai/mtvn)
