MANILA — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. was invited to attend the World Economic Forum (WEF) scheduled to be held in Davos, Switzerland from January 16 to January 20, 2023.
“World Economic Forum (WEF) Founder and Executive Chairman Klaus Schwab today invited President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to the WEF in Davos, Switzerland on January 16-20, 2023,” Office of the Press Secretary (OPS) said in a Facebook post.
The Palace said Marcos was personally invited by WEF founder and executive chairman Klaus Schwab after the breakfast meeting this Saturday at the Club Lounge of the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Phnom Penh, Cambodia where he is attending the 40th and 41st ASEAN Summits.
“Schwab told Marcos his attendance to the WEF serves as a good opportunity to let the global business community know about the dynamism and positive developments happening in the Philippines in a bid to attract more investors,” OPS added.
The WEF is an independent, global organization that interacts with corporate and political leaders “to shape global, regional, and industry agendas,” according to its website.
