MANILA — The number of vehicles passing through EDSA has reached 398,000, according to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).
In the Laging Handa Briefing on Monday, MMDA Spokesperson Melissa Carunungan added that this is equivalent to the number of cars before the pandemic.
“This was based on the recent survey conducted by the traffic engineering center of the MMDA last November 10, 2022,” Carunungan said.
“The volume of vehicles along EDSA is at around 398,000 every day. So, halos parehas lang sa pre-pandemic level. So, it always ranges from around 400,000 naman,” the official added.
This Monday, the new mall hours have been revised. It will now be from 11 am to 11 pm in the face of the expected heavy traffic due to the approaching holiday season.
“Ang inaasahan natin that it will have an increase of around 10 to 20 percent sa ating mga major thoroughfares for the ‘ber’ months,” Carunungan added.
