PRO7 nabs 766 drug personalities in 1 month ops

MANILA — Police Regional Office 7 Regional Director Brigadier General Roderick Augustus Alba announced on Sunday the success of their anti-criminality operations in Central Visayas that yielded several arrests and confiscation of large quantities of illegal drugs and other contraband and a new approach to the anti-insurgency campaign in the past 30 days under the new leadership.

Based on PRO7’s official data, Team PNP Region 7 arrested 766 persons involved in illegal drugs.

Of the arrested persons, 46 of them are high-value individuals while 447 are street-level individuals involved in illegal drug activities during the anti-drug operations.

Around 554 anti-illegal drug operations were launched by various joint law enforcement agencies during the period.

For the first 30 days after Alba took the reigns as the Regional Director of Team PNP Region 7 Bisdak Cops, from October 13 to November 12, the consolidated report showed zero or “No Death” during anti-drug operations conducted in Central Visayas, a significant result of police operations.

As of November 13, data showed 16,463.08 grams of shabu were confiscated with a Standard Drug Price value of P11,948,944.00.

Also, 65,257.80 grams of fully grown marijuana plants valued at P7,830,936.00 including 20 capsules of ecstasy worth P34,000.00, and 2 grams of cocaine worth P10,600.00 were seized for the period.

Lapu-Lapu City Police Office has the biggest haul of illegal drugs in one month from October 13 to November 13, 2022, with 7,331.46 grams of shabu seized worth P49,853,928.00 and 254.97 grams of marijuana seized valued at P30,596.40.

Cebu City Police Office ranked second followed by the Cebu Police Provincial Office.

In the same period, Alba said PRO7 conducted 789 operations with 129 arrests of most wanted persons and 688 other wanted persons sought by the Court to stand trial for the crime.

Cebu Police Provincial Office has the most number of total arrests provincewide with 252 followed by Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office with 218 and Cebu City Police Office with 158.

Team PNP Region 7 reported 306 operations against loose firearms that resulted in the arrest of 66 persons and the recovery of 329 firearms and five explosives.

Cebu Police Provincial Office has the most number of firearms seized/recovered and surrendered with 145, followed by Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office with 75 and Cebu City Police Office with 36.

While 1,147 persons were arrested for engaging in various forms of illegal gambling activities from whom cash bets of PhP132,777 were confiscated during its 506 operations.

Cebu City Police Office ranked No. 1 in the most number of arrests in the conduct of illegal gambling operations, followed by the Cebu Police Provincial Office and Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office.

Moreover, on the conduct of Huli-days from different parts of Central Visayas from October 26 to 31, 2022, Team PNP Region 7 efforts resulted in the arrest of 273 persons and confiscation of 5,452.27 grams of shabu with a total Standard Drug Price value of PhP37,075,436, including 20 grams of cocaine worth PhP10,600.00 and 20 tablets of ecstasy worth PhP34,000.00.

In anti-illegal gambling, 578 persons were arrested in its 234 operations with PhP50,181.00 bet money confiscated.

In loose firearms, 33 were arrested with 267 total firearms confiscated/surrendered and recovered. Also, 45 most wanted persons were arrested.

Of the 2,072 operations conducted in enforcing the local ordinances, 6,305 were fined for various violations and collected a total amount of PhP2,157,900.00 in fines.
