MANILA — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. departed for Thailand to attend the 29th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’ Meeting (AELM).
“Mga kababayan ko ang dala natin sa ganitong klaseng mga summit at saka mga meeting, ang ating mga pangarap para sa magandang buhay,” Marcos said in his speech before he leave the country.
Marcos added that he will promote security in food, energy, and cross-border passage of Filipino seamen.
In addition to his attendance at APEC meetings, the President and First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos are expected to meet King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua and Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana.
Meanwhile, the President is also scheduled to meet the Filipino community in Thailand.
“APEC remains one of the Philippines’ prime platforms to engage the economies in the Asia-Pacific region. The importance of this region to us cannot be overstated,” the President pointed out. (ai/mtvn)
