MANILA — Pampanga Representative and former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo said Sunday President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. made a “very good impression” during Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC).
“Well, it was his first appearance as President on the world stage because the Asia-Pacific region covers more than half of the world’s economies,” Arroyo said of Marcos.
“And he certainly made a very good impression on the leaders of the very important economies. And not only the very important economies, also on the great economic thinkers of the world,” Arroyo stressed.
The Secretary of the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), Susan “Toots” Ople, called the President’s first trip to the Asia-Pacific summit a successful venture that will undoubtedly be advantageous to the nation.
Ople said the President has an excellent rapport with the other economic leaders he has met, and they have “quite casual, very uplifting” conversations.
Parang ‘yun din ‘yung kanilang naging common ground,” she added.
