MANILA — Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP) chairperson and chief-executive-officer Undersecretary Elpidio Jordan Jr. welcomed the renewal of the memorandum of agreement (MoA) between the PCUP and Grab Philippines, saying that this would help greatly in the Commission’s programs of providing livelihood opportunities and assistance to the country’s marginalized and underprivileged sectors.

In a statement, Usec. Jordan thanked Grab Philippines or My.Taxi.ph following the firm’s promise of continued support to the PCUP in the fulfillment of its mandate of serving the urban poor and informal settler families (ISFs) and in line with the poverty alleviation program of the Marcos administration.

Grab Philippines public affairs manager Carole Malenab assured Usec. Jordan, Jr. that they are all-out in supporting PCUP, especially in its upcoming UPSW and the agency’s four banner programs that are scheduled to be launched and implemented the following year.

The meeting between PCUP and Grab Philippines was also attended by the Commission’s project and policy development unit head Yvelen Moraña and special assistant for internal and external affairs Jimmy Uy.

Usec. Jordan enthused he is hopeful that the renewal of the PCUP-Grab MoA would pave the way for more partnerships with other private groups and non-government organizations (NGOs) in the future.
