MANILA — Four male suspects were arrested in an anti-illegal drugs operation conducted by joint police operatives under the able leadership of PCol. Celerino M. Sacro Jr., Chief of Police, Pasig City Police Station on November 21 and 22, 2022.
On November 21, 2022, at about 7:00 PM along Caliwag Street, Brgy. Pinagbuhatan, a joint buy-bust operation was conducted by operatives of Station Drug Enforcement Unit and Follow-Up Section, Pasig Central POlice Station which resulted in the arrest of a 31-year-old suspect identified as Marz, a resident of Brgy. Pineda, Pasig City for violation of Sections 5 and 11 Art. II of R.A.9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
Confiscated from the suspect were three pieces of heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu with an estimated weight of more or less five grams worth P34,000 and recovery of P200 buy-bust money.
Markings and inventory of the seized evidence was conducted shortly at the place of incident in the presence of a barangay kagawad and representative from the media.
Meanwhile, at around 2 AM of November 22 at Callejon 2, Brgy. Sta Lucia, Pasig City, another joint buy-bust operation was conducted by the same group made up of Station Drug Enforcement Unit, Station Intelligence Section, Sub-Station 2, Sub-Station 7, SWAT, and 8th MFC, RMFB.
This resulted in the arrest of the three more suspects who were also slapped with cases in violation of Sections 5 and 11 Art. II of R.A.9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
Confiscated from them were eight heat sealed transparent plastic sachet believed to be shabu weighing around 50 grams worth P340,000.
Also recovered was the buy-bust money, a one thousand peso bill (P1,000) with serial number VB704871 which was placed on top of 29 pieces of fake P1,000 bills as bribe (boodle) money.
Markings and inventory of seized/confiscated evidence were conducted at the place of incident in the presence of Barangay Chairman Hon. Remedios A. Reyes and a representative from the media.
The suspects were informed of the nature of their arrest and was apprised of their constitutional rights in a dialect known to them.
Thereafter, suspects and the recovered pieces of evidence were brought to the police office for filing of appropriate charges and subsequently referred to EPD-Forensic Unit, Brgy. Mauway, Mandaluyong City for drug test and laboratory examination.
Sacro commended the operating personnel for the successful conduct of anti-illegal drugs operation.
“The intensification campaign of the PNP against illegal drugs will never cease, and with the help and cooperation of the community, we the PNP Pasig will continuously adhere towards a drug and crime free Pasig City,” he said.
