Vendors take advantage of closing window on selling pampano, pink salmon

As far as an administrative order is concerned, selling of pampano and pink salmon in public markets is still allowed and this the reason why market vendors are taking advantage of the closing window on the sale of the aforementioned fish products at Paco Public Mmarket on Sunday (27 Nov 2022).

The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) has already warned traders against the selling of the imported fish products save for big companies, hotels, and restaurants.

However, a grace period were issued to vendors for them to at least recover capital, the selling of imported fish in public wet markets is still allowed until next Sunday, 04 Dec. 2022.

It was gathered that only fish imported through Fisheries Administrative Order (FAO) 259 and the recent Certificate of Necessity to Import (CNI), which gives priority to municipal fishing associations, cooperatives, and commercial fishing operators affected by the closed fishing season, are allowed to be sold in the wet markets.
