MANILA — The Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG) operatives rounded-up 17 persons in 7 days of police-initiated operations from November 21 to November 27, 2022, Officer-in-Charge Police Lieutenant General Rhodel Sermonia announced on Tuesday.
Citing the report of Police Brigadier General Joel B Doria, ACG Director, PNP OIC PLtGen Sermonia announced the arrest of 7 individuals in entrapment operations.
Sermonia also lauded ACG for the the capture of ten Wanted Persons.
The PNP OIC also commended ACG’s six accomplishments on implementations of Cyber Warrants, twenty-five (25) Digital Forensic Examinations, and thirty-five (35) cases filed in court.
“Our cybercops will continue to be relentless in taking countermeasures on misinformation and spread of fake news by conducting cyber patrol operations on social media and other online platforms. We remind our public especially this coming yuletide season to be always vigilant in using social media and be responsible netizens”, Sermonia said. (ai/mtvn)
